Ada Schleicher Obituary

The heart of our family is safely in the arms of God. At the age of 95, Ada Ruth Schleicher entered her heavenly home on Monday, February 9th 2026. Ada was born May 26th 1930, in Corunna, Indiana to Voyd and Dessa Freed. She was educated in Corunna and graduated from Waterloo High School in 1948. After graduation, she worked at NO-SAG Spring Company in Kendallville, Indiana and in 1950 married Robert F. Schleicher of Ann Arbor Michigan. They moved to Ann Arbor and she worked alongside her husband at Argus Camera Company. Most of her adult life was spent as a homemaker, raising their three daughters, Roberta, Carole and Christine, being very involved in their school and church activities. She was a member of FBC Los Chavez in Los Chavez New Mexico.

If you walk into her home, the first place you would find her was in the kitchen, happily working to provide everything her family needed. The inside and outside of her home were meticulously cared for, and you could see her hard work and detailed personality as she was dedicated to providing beauty in everything she did. She was always available for a word of advice, to mend what was broken or to simply give a needed hug. Anytime her family would come to see her, they were always greeted with a warm smile and a kind heart that instantly made them feel they were home. She was truly the heartbeat of her family. She will be greatly missed, yet we know she is with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents Voyd and Dessa Freed, her husband Robert F. Schleicher and her daughter Roberta A. Carbajal.

She is survived by her two daughters Carole Caswell and husband Robert of Los Lunas, Christine Roath and husband Mark of Granbury Tx. 7 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren and sister-in-law Christine Hutchinson of Olympia WA.
