Alisandro (Alex) Chavez Jr., 73, of Socorro, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was born on June 6, 1952, in Socorro, to Alisandro "Tiger" Chavez and Victoria Madril Chavez. Alex lived a life centered on family, friendship, and making the most of every moment. He was known for his warm spirit, his sense of humor, and his ability to bring people together.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Chavez; his children, Alisandro (Alex) Chavez III and wife Melanie, Dominic Chavez and Brandi, Victor Chavez and wife Patricia, and stepdaughter Julia Aguilar and husband Steven; his grandchildren, Ashley Gonzales, Miranda Williams, Lexi Chavez, Alex Chavez IV (Adrianna), Christian Lopez, Deekota Chavez (Richie), Kaade Chavez (Aurelia) Koltton Chavez, Victor Chavez Jr. (Adelia), Izaiah Chavez (Lynae), Ashlyn Aguilar, and Alyssa Aguilar; his great-grandchildren, Ta' Lei Romero, Alianna Chavez and Alex Chavez V; his brother-in-law, George Foulenfont; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alex Chavez; his mother, Victoria Chavez; and his sister, Gloria Foulenfont.
Alex enjoyed spending time at the lake with family and friends. He also had a love for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and looked forward to motorcycle rallies. He will be remembered as the life of the party, someone who loved to laugh, make others laugh, and create lasting memories with the people he cared about most.

A graveside service for Alex will take place on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 11:00 am, at the San Miguel Catholic Cemetery.
