Antonio Barela Obituary
Antonio Barela, age 81, of Los Lunas New Mexico, passed away on March 30, 2025.
Tony was an extremely proud Vietnam Veteran who loved his Country, and his loving devoted wife of 60 years, who preceded him in passing.
Tony is survived by his 5 children; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; sisters; Minda, and Lolly; and one Brother in-law, Ed; along with several nieces and nephews.
Tony instilled a strong work ethic in all of his children, the love of God, and the importance of having a personal relationship with Jesus.
Tony had ambitions of running another marathon, and we, the family feel as if he is accomplishing that in Heaven on the Streets paved with Gold, with his biggest fan, JoAnne, whistling away!
Tony may have left this earthly world for home, but his cheesy one liner jokes will never be forgotten.
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11.
Services for Tony will take place on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 11:00 am, at In His Presence Ministries. Antonio will then be placed to rest at 2:30 pm, at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
