Bernadette Montoya, 56, of Socorro, New Mexico passed away peacefully at her home on October 14, 2023, surrounded by her beloved family after fighting a long battle with breast cancer. Bernadette worked as a patient registrar at the local hospital for over 20 years as she loved helping people. She loved listening to music and she attending countless concerts in her lifetime, she also enjoyed watching and cheering on "HER" 49ERS! The simplest pleasures in life brought joy to Bernadette. She loved camping in the mountains, fishing at the river and cruising any dirt road she could find. She loved hosting her family dinners as often as she could, most of all, Bernadette was a wonderful mother and grandmother who "loved her babies to infinity and beyond!" She was always there for her family and friends.

She is preceded d in death by her grandparents, Climaco and Isita Montoya; sister, Tammy Aguilar; auntie, Patricia Montoya; and uncle, Johnny Montoya.
Bernadette is survived by her mother, MaryLou Montoya; her children, Nicole Montoya, Joshua Montoya, and Michaela Montoya (Jorge Hinojosa); her siblings, Norman Aguilar, Jeannie Padilla, and Daniel Padilla Jr. (Siobhan Montoya); her grandchildren, Jacob Montoya (Veronica Monsibaiz); Lilly Jessen, Josiah Garcia-Montoya, Lyric Garcia-Montoya, Noah Hinojosa, and soon to be great-grand baby Montoya. Her uncle Tony Montoya; her cousin and soul sister, Michelle Candelaria, and Kim Baldonado her "Friend to the end". She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved like her own.
A Celebration of Life for Bernadette will be scheduled at a later date.
