Bruce Vestal Obituary
Bruce Vestal, age 56, put down his tools for the final time on November 3rd, 2025 after a long battle with leukemia.
Bruce was an exceptional mechanic, a true artist with an engine. He was the kind of man who could make a diesel engine stop humming and start singing. His passion was finding and unleashing power! Of course, in the classic tale of the cobbler's children having no shoes, while Bruce could fix anyone's vehicle, he could never seem to keep his own car rolling down the road.
His love for anything with an engine started at an early age with a passion for riding dirt bikes. To the very end, he kept his family laughing by joking about who would be the lucky one to inherit his last bike.
His playful, competitive spirit was legendary. He took immense pride in his ability to beat absolutely anyone at Street Fighter, a title he proudly defended—even, and perhaps especially, against his children.
When he wasn't in the garage or on a bike, he was satisfying his sweet tooth. He was a great connoisseur of pecan pie, chocolate mud pie cake, and, above all, his mother's 16-layer German cake. His love for these treats was a testament to his love of something sweet and his German roots, which his family will forever remember through adorable pictures of him sporting lederhosen.
Although he will be profoundly missed, his family knows he will forever be joking, laughing, and talking about the power behind whatever engine he might be working on now.
He is reunited with his beloved mother Margot Vestal, Oma, Opa, and brother Scott Vestal. He leaves behind his loving family: partner of 19 years, Shawna DeMasters; father, Don Vestal; step-mother, Jan Vestal. His legacy also continues through his beloved children: Skyler, Kaylee, Tyler, Hunter, Sterling, Jesse & Eleni.
A celebration of Bruce's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you simply go for a drive, hold that steering wheel tight, and with the throttle to the floor, "light them up" in his honor!
