Carol Murphy Obituary

Carol Murphy, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished Mimi, sister, and dedicated teacher, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024. In Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the age of 82. She was born on April 18, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky, she spent much of her life in Socorro, New Mexico, before settling in Belen in 1998 with her beloved husband, Art Murphy married for 55 years, and her two sons.

Carol had a heart for teaching and taking care of children. She spent her career nurturing young minds as a caregiver and as a teacher of four year old's at La Mesa Christian School. She found immense joy in watching her students grow and succeed, always believing in their potential and celebrating their achievements. Her kind and patient spirit left a lasting impact on every child she cared for and taught.

Beyond the classroom, Carol's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to her sons, Artie Murphy and Tim Murphy, a proud Mimi to her grandson Keegan Murphy. She treasured every moment spent with her loved ones, whether tending to her beautiful garden, sharing conversations with family, or simply enjoying the blessings of life. Her unwavering faith in the Lord guided her through every season of life, and she inspired those around her with her kindness, wisdom, and love.

Carol was succeeded in death by her precious first born son, born on Christmas Day, sadly still born, her husband Art Murphy, a sister Vivian Weeks, and a brother Weldon Weeks. She is survived by her son Artie Murphy of Belen, New Mexico, son Tim Murphy of Queen Creek, Arizona, and grandson Keegan Murphy of Queen Creek, Arizona. Five brothers: Tom Hogan and wife Sandy of Rio Communities, New Mexico, Mike Weeks and wife Lisa of Scurry, Texas, Ron and Phil Alexandra of Indiana, and Mike Caves of Florida. Three sisters: Wanda Allen of Corsicana, Texas, Diane Hampton of Belen, New Mexico, Charlotte Tenorio and husband Ron of Belen, New Mexico, along with numerous nieces and nephews and friends of all ages. She was loved by many.

A memorial service for Carol will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Belen Seventh Day Adventist Church, at 1:30 pm.
