Connie (Garza) Pena

Our beautiful and amazing wife, mother, nana, great nana, daughter and sister was called to be with the lord Jesus on April 13th.

Connie is preceded in death by her son Gilberto jr., Parents Severo and Francisca, siblings, Severo Garza, Ferrera Garza, Maria Garza, Yolanda Ramirez.

She is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 65 years Gilberto F Pena, her children, Velma Carerra, Yolonda Mendragon (Paul) Raul Pena, Michelle Rodriguez (Daniel) Loisa Fischer (Joey) and many amazing grandchildren and great grandchildren. Siblings Elida Salaz, Mario Garza.

Connie was born in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota and raised in Lubbock, Texas where she met Gilberto. After a few dates to the movies they fell madly in love and got married. Later they moved their family to Los Lunas, New Mexico and had a wonderful and exciting life. Her life work was protecting and raising her children and anyone who lived in her home. Everyone was her mijo and mija. She always welcomed anyone to their home with a hug and a warm meal. Connie was the backbone of our beloved family. Connie's love, strength, and faith with be with us forever. She will be missed and remembered always in our hearts.

Services for mom will take place on Thursday, April 25, 2025, at San Clemente Catholic Church. A visitation will take place at 9:00 am, followed by a rosary at 9:30 am. Mass will be recited at 10:00 am. Comnie will then be laid to rest at the Our lady of Belen Cemetery at following mass.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Pena, Roberto Carrera, Antonio Pino, Charles Rashing, John Mondragon, Jared Monodragon, Honorary Pallbearers; Francisca Pratt, Gilbert Monge, Amparo Rodriguez, Anthony Fischer
