Curtis Smith was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He loved the outdoors- hunting, fishing, playing in the lake, and working on his farm. He was a hard worker and could outwork people half his age.
He suffered a deep loss when two of his sons, Micky, and Stacey; daughter n law Lisa, and grandchildren, Jacob and Amanda died in a boating accident. Two years later, his loving wife Phylis lost her battle with cancer. This left a big piece missing in Curtis. He made it with the love and support of family and friends.
He found love again with his wife, Susie. They loved dancing and won several trophies at the senior center. In their later years, they enjoyed meeting with friends at Denny's or the community center for lunch. They would take their dogs on car rides, and they would always stop at sonic for a treat.
While Curtis was never baptized as one of Jehovahs' Witnesses', he would go to the Kingdom Hall with Susie and enjoyed doing things with the friends in the congregation. He was happy and content, with his sense of humor, to the end.
We hope to see him again in Jehovah's new world and have that longed for "family reunion" with all our loved ones! We long to see him again with his piercing blue eyes and ready smile whistling as he walks, dogs in tow!
Curtis is survived by his wife Susie, son Randy, and his wife Jennifer; daughter, Desiree, and her husband Dan; Stepfamily Albert and Nancy Torres; Veronica Gonzalez; Bobby and Lupe Torres; and Suzanne and Kirk Salyer. Grandchildren Joshua Smith; Cameron and Brielle Mitchell; Melissa, Alexis, and Aaron Torres; Brandon, Chad, and Shawn Gonzalez; Amy, Hannah, and Robert Torres; and Lucas, Brooks, and McKenna Salyer.
