Cynthia Kay Thompson, lovingly known as Cindy, passed away on January 22, 2026, surrounded by love. She was born on May 14, 1951, in Lubbock, Texas, to Lee M. Rucker and Velna C. Rucker (née Hodges).
Cynthia was a beautiful, thoughtful, and deeply compassionate woman whose kindness touched everyone who knew her. She had a gentle way of making people feel seen and cared for, and her generous heart left a lasting impression on family, friends, and all whose lives she crossed.
Throughout her life, Cynthia lived in New Mexico, California, and Florida before returning home to New Mexico, where she spent the last years of her life in San Acacia. It was there that she found peace and comfort in retirement, surrounded by the familiar beauty of the place she always considered home.
Cynthia is survived by her loving husband, Timothy Will Thompson Sr.; her daughter, Corinn Pope; her siblings, Larry Rucker and Sandra Jones; and her stepsons, Ryan Thompson and Josh Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Velna Rucker; her son, Sean Carter; and her stepson, Timmy Thompson.
Services for Cynthia will take place on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Noblin Funeral Service, Belen Chapel. A visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
Cynthia will be remembered for her loving heart and gentle soul. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace, resting in God's loving care.
