Darrick Byron Chavez passed away on March 17, 2026, at the age of 57. Born on September 4, 1968,
He is survived by his beloved spouse, Jessica A. Chavez, and his three children: Julie Schrader, Briana M. Chavez, and Andrew Chavez; four grandchildren: Lane Schrader, Drew Schrader, Chevelle Ortiz, and Jayce Chavez; parents, Louis Gilbert Chavez and Elsie M. Chavez; sisters, Regina R. Chavez and Ramona L. Bland; brother, John Madrid, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
His hobbies included restoring classic cars and detailing them. He also had a windshield repair business He worked for many years for MRGCD.
Pallbearers will be Lane Schrader, Drew Schrader, Chevelle Ortiz, and Jayce A. Chavez; honorary pallbearers will be, Noah Tafoya, John Cordova, Shawn Marez, Larry Marqeuez, David Sanchez, Jake Bland, Mykl Chavez and Jeffrey Lucero.
Services for Darrick will take place on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church in Belen, NM. A visitation will be held at 10:30 am, followed by a rosary at 11:00 am.
