David Cervantes, age 59, of Los Lunas, New Mexico, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 24, 2025.
David was born on March 7, 1966, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Agustin and Kathleen "Katie" Cervantes. He worked for many years as a car salesman, where his friendly personality and sense of humor made him a favorite among customers and coworkers alike. It was through his work that he met the love of his life, Debra, and they were married on May 31, 2014. Their relationship was built on love, laughter, and deep devotion to one another. David will be remembered by all who knew him for his lighthearted spirit, quick wit, and love of storytelling. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, a cherished grandfather, loving brother, uncle and loyal friend. A passionate sports fan, David cheered faithfully for his favorite NFL team, the Las Vegas Raiders. He also enjoyed horse racing and had a keen interest in fishing—though he never wanted to touch the fish himself! His dogs held a special place in his heart and brought him endless joy.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Agustin and Kathleen Cervantes.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Debra Cervantes; his son, Michael Cervantes, and wife Diondria; and his cherished grandchildren, Deziah, Jasmine, and Jeremiah Cervantes.
David is also survived by his stepchildren, Dakota McDonald and wife Elaine, and Casey McDonald and wife Amber; as well as his step-grandchildren, Ulrich and Atlas (grandsons) and Copper and Segan (granddaughters).
He is further survived by his siblings: Richard Cervantes and wife Cynthia, William Cervantes and wife Dianna, Gerald Cervantes and wife Wendy, and Emily Cervantes.
Pallbearers will be Michael Cervantes, Richard Cervantes, William Cervantes, Gerald Cervantes, Cameron Cervantes, and Bret Cervantes Madrid.
Honorary pallbearers will be Deziah, Jasmine, and Jeremiah Cervantes; Dakota McDonald; Casey McDonald; Ulrich and Atlas McDonald; and Copper and Segan McDonald.
