David Garcia, 69, of Los Lunas, New Mexico, peacefully surrendered himself into the loving hands of his Heavenly Father on December 17, 2025. David was born on February 18, 1956, in Beeville, Texas where he was raised on a ranch, as part of a large and loving family of 14 siblings. He later moved to Houston, and graduated from Dulles High School, class of 1975.
David met the love of his life, Sheila, and together they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and devotion. They were married on March 10, 1984, beginning a partnership that would span decades. Eventually, they made their home in New Mexico, where they created a place filled with warmth, family, and memories.
David was a hardworking and dedicated man. He began his career working at Creamland before going on to work as a chemical technician at Sandia National Laboratories, where he proudly dedicated 20 years of service. His strong work ethic and commitment were evident in everything he did.
David was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved stepdaughters, Antoinette and Sophia, whom he adored as his own. He was the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren, who were truly the light of his life and his greatest joy.
David had a gift for bringing people together. He loved dancing with his wife and took great pride in making her smile. A natural storyteller, David could always be counted on to fill a room with laughter. He took pride in his home and yard, finding peace in gardening and caring for the space he lovingly maintained. Above all, David cherished time spent with family and friends.
David will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious humor, unwavering love for his family, and the joy he brought to everyone who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and faith that will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
David is survived by his wife of 41 loving years, Sheila Garcia; his stepdaughters, Antoinette
(James) Caldwell and Sophia Carrejo; his grandchildren, Valerie Caldwell, Patrick Caldwell
(Julie), and Olivia Martinez (Alex); and his great-grandchildren, Alexis, Maddison, Carlos, Domaris, Jaziah, Nate, Briseis, and Junior.
He is also survived by his siblings, Ramona Montes, Dolores (Johnny) Soza, Alvino Garcia, Olga (Jesse) Morales, Daniel (Jill) Garcia, Maryann (Mel) Trevino, and Cathy (Arnold) Lopez; and his sister-in-law, Longie Garcia. And many loving nieces and nephews.
