David Earl Jones, 68, passed away on December 24, 2025. Born on January 10, 1957, David lived a life marked by athletic passion, an open heart, and deep devotion to his family.
David was a talented and natural athlete throughout his life. Whether he was on the bowling lanes, the golf course, or the baseball field, he excelled in competition and found great joy in the game.
However, David will be remembered most for his vibrant spirit. He was a constant source of joy to those around him and possessed a rare ability to connect with people; he truly never met a stranger he didn't befriend. Above all, David loved his family. He was fiercely protective of those he held dear, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
David is survived by his beloved mother, Shirley Jones of Mountainair, NM; his brothers, Wayne Jones and wife Gayle of Mountainair, NM, and Danny Jones and wife Cindy of Andrews, TX; and his sister, Sherry Young and husband David of Peralta, NM. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Jones; his grandparents, Ernest and Ola Mae Monk, and Fae and Irene Jones; and his step-grandmother, Ruth Jones.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to ARCA for all the love and care they provide to David. Donations can be made at https://bit.ly/donateARCA
