Devon Robert Lumpkin, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on April 1st, 2025, at the age of 27.
Born June 13th, 1997, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Devon was raised from the age of 2, alongside his identical twin, and his older brother here in Belen, New Mexico.
From an early age, Devon was destined to SHINE. Alongside his twin brother, he was chosen for the role of Jordan in the movie Lockdown, and has continued to capture the hearts of those around him ever since.
Everyone knows his true passions were Mustangs, music, and anything car related. He was a person that loved people, and believed in doing good by others. Hence, why he spent the last 10 years employed by The New Beginnings, which he absolutely loved. He also worked for 24/7 Recovery, and was probably one of the only people to make friends while repossessing your car!
On the flipside, he definitely had a strong personality which somehow, people still loved. His newest passion in life was his son. He wanted so badly to be the best father, but unfortunately, his time was cut short. If you knew Devon well, then you know that he would always preach lessons. I think this one would be to live every day with love, kindness, and respect.
He is survived by his son, Devon Rowan Lumpkin; great grandmother Lorraine Tantillo; grandmothers Carol Darlene Lumpkin and Sarah Jane Stevens; grandfathers Raymond Wallace Lumpkin and Anthony Stevens; parents Lynn Danielle Lumpkin and Gary Devon Stevens; siblings Mikel Leo Lumpkin, Darnell Raymond Lumpkin, Leah Danielle Carney, Kyle Webb, Chauntae Quesnel, Darnell Quesnel, Amari Williams, and Christina Stevens; aunts Antoinette Stevens and Andrea Stevens; uncle Darnell Stevens; cousins Gloria Danika Stevens (Dani), Kia Stevens, Destiny Williams, Tynisha Wilcox, and She'Arre Wilcox.
Services for Devon will take place on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Calvary Chapel Rio Grande Valley. A visitation will be held at 9:30 am, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am. A reception will be held immediately following the funeral service at Eagle Park in Belen.
