Dianne M. Mattson, 79, a resident of Belen, New Mexico, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021. She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen V. Mattson, her father, Gilbert L. Mattson, and her longtime partner, B. Paul Ortega. Born on June 27, 1942, in Minneapolis, MN, Dianne was raised in Anoka, MN, and was fond of talking about her childhood and friends back home. Dianne was a minister and teacher, having worked in public school systems in New Mexico and other places, including as far away as Germany during military service in her family. During her retirement, she volunteered as a victim's advocate and ran for the Belen City Council. She enjoyed going out to lunch at local restaurants with her family and friends, had several rambunctious cats she adored, and held close her lifelong friendship and love of her mother, Helen. Dianne and Helen are interred at the historic Terrace Grove Cemetery in Belen, NM. Arrangements are being handled by the caring professionals at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel, 418 W.
