Douglas William Spain was born on March 12, 1935, in Comanche, Oklahoma, to Tommy and Lillian Spain. He is survived by the love of his life, his "Sweetie," Frances Spain. Doug and Frances were married on January 8, 1955. During their 66 year marriage, they displayed dedication, unity, loyalty and the ideal of love in marriage. He was an esteemed son, brother, husband, father of two, grandfather of five and great-grandfather of eleven. He made his family his priority. He worked extremely hard to provide for his wife and children, and established a reputation as a stellar worker everywhere he was employed, including the 11 years in which he served full-time in the Army National Guard and the 20 plus years that he worked for the AT & SF Railroad. Doug lived an exemplary life of integrity and Christian service. He dedicated his time and resources to fulfilling his walk with Christ through the Church, serving as an elder and volunteering with numerous ministries, as well as through community service. Arrangements are being handled by the caring professionals at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel, 418 W. March 28, 2021 7:10 PMDoug was a wonderful man. It was an honor to visit with him, his wife Frances, and to get to know Francine and the rest of the family better as a former pastor at First Presbyterian Church. My prayers for Frances, Francine and all his family, and friends at the church and other places. I pray that you will find comfort and hope in the promise that he is at rest and with God. Thank you for letting me get to know you and my sincere love and prayers are with all of you!
