It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ellen Irene Enderud onMonday May 19, 2025, at age 95 leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. Her presence brought joy and comfort to all who had the privilege of knowing her. This obituary serves as a tribute to her remarkable life, the impact she made on those around her, and the enduring legacy she leaves behind.
Born on September 23, 1929, in Offenbach, Germany she possessed a remarkable spirit and a zest for life that would guide her through her journey. Her childhood was filled with moments of joy, curiosity, the horrors of war, and the unwavering support of her loving family. She emigrated to the US on June 4, 1953, and became a proud citizen on December 16, 1957.
Ellen pursued her education in Germany with diligence and passion, although the early years were interrupted by war-time events, Ellen completed a college level education in accounting and finance. After she came to the United States she worked for the Marine Corps HQ in Washington DC and the Veterans Administration in California, Texas, and New Mexico. All were marked by dedication, and a genuine commitment to the task at hand.
She shared a deep and abiding love for her husband Clarence (Jim) , and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and mutual respect. Married on July 13, 1954 they built an inspiring love story.
Ellen's passion was cruising the world over. Together she and Jim marked up 36 cruises in every direction, sometimes visiting the same places two or three times. Her favorite place to visit was Santorini, Greece.
Ellen's love, kindness, and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her. She lived a life that was rich in love, purpose, and meaning, and her spirit will live on in our memories of her.
In this time of grief, let us remember the joy she brought into our lives and honor her by living with the same generosity of spirit that she embodied. May she rest in peace, knowing she was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
She leaves us to join her husband Clarence (Jim), her mother Renee Limon ,and her father Manfred Koch. She is survived by her stepsister Marion Spies of Bad Nauheim, Germany and her many wonderful friends especially her very favorite, since childhood,
Marga Moebs.
