Frances Carrillo Obituary

It is with great sadness that we, the family of Frances Carrillo, age 87, of Belen, New Mexico, announce that she has left this world to meet our Heavenly Father on Monday, April 18, 2022 surrounded by her loving family at her home. Frances was born to Luis Padilla Murillo and Matiana Munoz-Murillo on July 1, 1934, in Susanville, California. Frances is preceded in passing by her parents; her brothers, Rudy and Joe “Bud” Murillo; her sisters, Mary Murillo-Arenivas and Esther Murillo; sister-in-laws Katie Murillo and Leone Murillo; brother-in-laws, Elias Arenivas, Vern O’Dell, Don Amistani, and Paul Walker; nephew, Louis Blanco; Neice, Debra Arenivas; grandson-in-law, Steven J. Abeita, and her great-grandson, Isaac Aaron Abeita. Frances became a resident of Belen in 1959. She had many jobs throughout her time in Belen, Los Lunas, and Bosque Farms. She was employed by Lota Burger, Joey’s Café, First National Bank of Belen, Sandia Federal Savings and Loan Association, and finally, retired from the Public Service Company of NM in 2000. A few years after retiring from PNM she went to work at the Bosque Farms Elementary School as a Teacher’s aid until 2012. Growing up in Norhtern California, Frances came from a large, happy family. She loved music. All genres; from County Western, Spanish, and Opera to Rock. She preferred listening to music than watching TV. Frances also loved her sweets. She would always have to have “just a little piece of something sweet.” She was a fun, loving person to be around and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, but she will join her loving Murillo family in Heaven. Frances is survived by her adoring husband of 68 years, Bernabe “Barney” Carrillo; daughters, Edina Flores (Pete Sr), and Cynthia Dimas (Duane); grandchildren, Erica Flores-Abeita, and Pete Flores Jr; great-granddaughter, Ashley Abeita-Cordren. She is also survived by her three loving sisters, Gloria Walker, Bea Amistani, and Helen O’Dell; her three loving brothers, John Murillo (Jean), Gabe Murillo (Gracie), and Bob Murillo (Pam). Frances was a beautiful, caring, and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, great-aunt, godmother, and foster mother. She will be greatly missed by all those who’s hearts she touched. Arrangements are being handled by the caring professionals at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel, 418 W. Reinken Ave., (505)864-4448, where an online guest register is available at www.noblin.com.
