Gilbert Ulivarri, Jr

Gilbert Ulivarri Jr., age 84, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away peacefully in his daughter's home, surrounded by his devoted family, on March 20, 2026.

Gilbert was a man of strong faith and helped many people from the community throughout the years. He will be missed profoundly by all who loved him. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Ambercare, Rhianna Haskew, Kira Griego, Valeen Lynch, and all the amazing caregivers and staff for the exceptional way they treated and cared for Gilbert. We know he is now united with the love of his life and they are dancing in heaven.

He is survived by his children, Angela Trujillo (Raymond) and Eric Ulivarri; grandchildren, Raymond Trujillo Jr. (Annie) and Rhianna Haskew (KC); great-grandchildren, Terrence Leroy, Kacee Rae, Amari Joe, Kaeshawn Haskew, Avianni Van Trujillo, and Michael Van; sisters, Marie Korte and Terese (Tinky) Ulivarri; five sisters-in-law, Liz, Margo, Barbara, Dahlia, and Antonette; four brothers-in-law, Norbert, Rick, Rudy, and Clay; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mary Esther Ulivarri; his parents, Gilbert "La Gila" and Ventura (Bennie) Ulivarri; in-laws, Jose and Priscilla Gallegos; brothers-in-law, Alvin Korte, Joe M. and Manuel Gallegos; and sisters-in-law, Rose Marie Moya and Marcella Montaño.

Services for Gilbert will take place on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church in Belen, NM. A visitation will be held at 9:00 am, followed by a rosary at 9:30 am. Mass will follow the rosary. Gilbert will be placed to rest, with his beloved, at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Thursday, April 9, at 11:00 am.
