Jacob “Jake” Hirschfeld, age 69, of Belen, New Mexico passed peacefully with family by his side on October 23, 2023. He was a proud Veteran of The United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He resided for many years in Denver, Colorado where he loved the cool mountain weather. He especially loved spending time with his Godson and nephews when they would visit him in the summer. Jacob recently returned to Belen to be with his mom before her passing. Anytime you saw him, he was sure to have his best furry friend, Zeus, by his side.
He is preceded in death by his Grandmother, Tillie Silva; Parents, Alexander Jacob & Ana Eva Hirschfeld, and Siblings, Randy Silva & Rodney Hirschfeld.
He is survived by his lifelong friend, Sharon Willhite-Finzel; Children, Bridget & Rene Rodriguez, Alex Wyhs, Crystalyn Chavez and Dominic Tuttle; Grandchildren, Kevin Giron & Marissa, Ethan Garland, Emilio Rodriguez, Melodie Giron, Eric Rodriguez, Eli Rodriguez, Ean Rodriguez and great-granddaughter Dharma Giron; Siblings, Sylvia Silva, Joseph & Lenora Hirschfeld, Brenda Sanchez, Mona Bustamante, Angel & Al Marentes, Sophia & Glen Marquez, Paula & Steve Rodriguez, Ben Hirschfeld and Stella Rangel, Linda Hirschfeld, David & Rachelle Hirschfeld, Larry & Kim Moya and Fran Harris; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul Bearer will be Alejandro Magallanes; Honorary Paul Bearers Miguel “Moose” Sanchez, Joseph David Hirschfeld, Adam Sanchez and Ean Rodriguez.
Services for Jacob will take place on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Visitation will be at 10:00 am followed by the Rosary at 10:30 am. Mass will then take place at 11:00 am. Jacob will then be placed at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens immediately following the Mass. Followed by a reception at the Sheriff’s Posse Hall, 10 I-25 Bypass, Belen, NM 87002. Arrangements are being handled by the caring professionals at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel, 418 W. Reinken Ave., , where an online guest register is available at www.noblin.com.
