James Francis Rimel Jr, 79. Known to most as
"Jeff", a loving husband, father and grandfather, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on June 6, 2025.
Jeff was born on June 1, 1946 to Ruth Ena and James Francis Rimel Sr. in Philadelphia, PA. After Jeff graduated from Conestoga Senior High School in 1964, he then went on college before joining the Army in 1967 and proudly served during Vietnam.
In 1969, Jeff met his wife Dianna in Killeen, TX, while he was stationed at Fort Hood. Jeff and Dianna married in 1970 and went on to have 3 children, Marissa, Maegan and Scott.
In 2016, Jeff retired from his position as the Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Administrator at Cibola General Hospital in Grants, NM. He and Dianna moved to Los Lunas in April of 2020 to be closer to their kids and grandkids. Jeff spent as much time as he could with his family, playing games, barbequing, camping and traveling. He loved going anywhere in his RV.
Jeff was preceded in death by his precious daughter, Maegan, his parents, Ruth Ena and James F Rimel Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Dianna, daughter Marissa (Eric), son Scott (Nicole), grandchildren, Jacob and Natalie, sister, Dale Moore of Kennett Square, PA and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 700 Camelot Blvd, Los Lunas, NM
on Saturday, June 1,2025 at 10:30am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to oneofakindkids.org, an organization Jeff felt strongly about because of the support they give to his granddaughter.
