Jeffrey Kenneth Foster

Jeffrey (Jeff) Kenneth Foster, 64, peacefully left this world on November 29, 2024.

Jeff was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque and attended and graduated from Special Education at Sandia High School in Albuquerque. He was active in his church choir at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, the Special Olympics, a bowling group and Merry Makers.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father and mother, Irving A. Foster and Kathleen Foster, and his cousin Andrew D. Kellner. He is survived by his sisters Vicki Sue Garrett and Cheri Lynn Melkus, both of Albuquerque, Major Ryan A. Melkus, his wife Callie, and grand nieces Adelyn and Cora, all of Hampton, Virginia, and Dr. Kiel A. Melkus, his wife Kelly, and grand nephews Jackson and Cole of Colorado Springs, CO.

Jeff lived most of his adult life at various group homes in ARCA and The Arc of New Mexico. The family is deeply grateful for Jeff's caregivers and staff at the Paseo del Mar House, who provided Jeff with their loving care and their dedication to his wellness for the past 3 years, and to the Kaseman Hospice Team who gave Jeff their tender loving care as Jeff traveled on his journey during the last three days of his life.

Jeff was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and never missed a game. He wore his Cowboys jersey (with Roger Staubach number No. 12) for almost every game and his room was also decorated with as much fan paraphernalia, including Cowboys sheets, comforters, window drapes, and ballcaps that could possibly fit in it. His prized possession is a personally signed and autographed picture of Roger Stauback. Family friends Kathie and Gary Williams attended a party at Mr. Staubach's home and Mr. Staubach graciously signed it for Jeff.

Jeff's footprint in this world will be celebrated and honored at his Memorial Celebration on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 9500 Constitution, NE in Albuquerque. Following the service, the family would like to extend an invitation to those attending his Memorial to join them in the church foyer for light snacks and beverages.
