John Wayne Bullington, age 76, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on June 21, 2026.
John was born in Mountainair, NM on Sep 7, 1949, to Luther and Lorena (McFarland) Bullington. In his early years and to family he went by Johnny. He grew on the family ranch and was a 1967 graduate of Mountainair High School.
John served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War is a proud Veteran.
John was a man of hard work and determination. From his early days working for the Von Cain Ranch, Repairing windmills and drilling Water Wells for Bureau of Indian Affairs, to Owning and Operating Bullington Well Service, Truck Driving, working the oil fields in Alaska and finally retiring as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the US Army Corps of Engineers.
He later returned to his ranching roots and spent many years Team Roping.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Lorena Bullington and brothers Leonard, infant brother Kenneth, Luther "Jack", and Noble Bullington.
John Bullington is survived by his wife of 56 years Lennis. His children William "Bill" Bullington of Bosque Farms, NM, Lewis Bullington of Los Lunas, NM. Along with his grandchildren Nikole Bullington, Liana Bullington and Haydn Bullington. And one great-grandchild Nevaeh Bullington.
