John J. Silva Sr., age 51, of Belen, NM, and formally of Burns Street in Providence, RI, died Friday, October 8, 2021, surrounded by his loving family at home. He was the husband of Sandra E (Ficocelli) Silva, they had been married for 20 years. Born in Providence, RI, the son of Annaise (Isabelle) Silva and the late. Anthony J. Silva, Jr. He lived in Providence, RI before moving to Belen 4 years ago. John had been a Driver for Pro Drivers and a Bus Driver for Tome Adelino Head Start over the past 4 years before falling ill. He had previously worked for Don-Mar Creations, Inc in East Providence, RI for 11 years. He was a member of the St. Lawrence Knights of Columbus Council 2235 and the Williams J. Adams Assembly 1063 in North Providence, RI. John loved Nascar, boating, being at the beach, and most of all teaching his children about mechanics. Besides his wife and mother, he leaves his children, John J. Noonan-Silva, Jr, the late Zachary K. Silva, and Bruce Z. Silva all of Cranston, RI, his daughters Isabelle G. Silva and Lily T. Silva both of Belen, NM, his three brothers, Anthony J. Silva Ill of AZ, George Silva of MA, and Arthur M. Silva of NY, several nieces, nephews, and godchildren. Funeral Services will be held at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel, at 12 pm with visitation before the service from 10-12 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Esophageal Cancer Action Network of the Nascar Foundation.
