Johnny Galvan, beloved brother, uncle, friend, and mentor, passed away peacefully in hospice on January 9, 2025.
Johnny was born in Lordsburg, New Mexico on September 16, 1949. Johnny graduated from Lordsburg High School before serving in the Army, where he served as a Vietnam War Veteran and pharmacy technician. After serving his country, Johnny moved to San Francisco, where he worked at Seton Medical Center Pharmacy for many years before retiring in 2015 and then moving to Las Vegas, Nevada. Johnny later moved to Los Lunas, New Mexico to be closer to family.
An avid San Francisco Giants fan, Johnny had a kind heart and treated everyone in his life like family, so he naturally dedicated much of his life to mentoring others. Johnny's mentorship had a huge impact on his community. He helped countless others take steps to improve their lives and many people across the country credit him for being the inspiration that saved them — a legacy of compassion and hope that lives on in all who knew him.
Johnny is survived by his brother; Danny Galvan and sister-in-law Renee Galvan, sisters Becky Galvan, Gloria Martinez, and Irene Galvan, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father; Domingo Galvan and mother Isabel Galvan, and grandparents Benjamin and Flora Arambula and Ladislado and Refugio Galvan.
Johnny will be laid to rest in his hometown of Lordsburg, New Mexico.
Services for Johnny Galvan on Saturday February 1 st at St Joseph Catholic Church in Lordsburg. Visitation at 9:00. Rosary 9:30. Communion services at 10:00. Interment following. Reception at Hampton Inn in the lobby following the burial.
