Jose Carlos Montoya

Jose Montoya, age 40, a resident of Valencia County, passed away on December 9, 2025.

Jose was a man who deeply loved the outdoors, finding peace while fishing or spending time in nature. A devoted sports fan, he rarely missed a chance to watch football or boxing with his grandpa. Whether he was listening to old country or rap, Jose's greatest joy was simply being with his family and creating lasting memories together.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Miquella Moya.

Jose is survived by his sons, Andrew and Ben Montoya; his father, Carlos Montoya; sisters, Michelle (Jason) and Brittany (Josh); grandparents, Jose and Rita Moya; nephews, Mason and Silas; niece, Maddilyn; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
