Jose Rodriguez Obituary

Jose A. Rodriguez, affectionately known as "Lalo," 88, of Los Lunas, originally from Truchas, passed away peacefully at his home on March 27, 2025. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, Lalo will be remembered for his kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering love for his family.
Lalo proudly served in the United States Army, a testament to his dedication and service to his country. After his time in the military, he spent many years working in construction, where his strong work ethic and craftsmanship left a lasting impression.
Beyond his professional life, Lalo had a deep love for life itself. He enjoyed visiting casinos, always up for a good time, and found immense joy in spending time with his family, whether it was gathering for a meal or simply sharing stories. Lalo had a special way of making everyone feel loved and cherished. He was always quick with a nickname for every child, bringing smiles and laughter wherever he went. His sense of humor, playful nature, and generous heart touched the lives of everyone he encountered.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Esquipula and Julia Rodriguez; his brother, Cecillo (Tilo) Rodriguez; his sisters, Florida (Lala) Steely and Cande Sandoval; his in-laws, Esquiel and Anita Chavez; his brother-in-law, Orlando Chavez; and his sister-in-law, June Garcia.
Lalo is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Amelia Rodriguez; his daughter, Gina Martinez; his grandchildren, Evelyn, Faith, Ana, and Isiah; and his great-grandchildren, Armani and Olivia. He is also survived by his siblings, Gilbert (Marylou), Ruben (Concha), Corcino (Isabel), and Tina (Joe); his special brother-in-law, Benny Ralph Garcia; his brother-in-law, Arturo (Benilde) Chavez; his sister-in-law, Isabel; as well as his special nieces, Christina (Alex), Valerie (Gene), and Donna; and special nephews, Adam and Ronny. Lalo is also survived by many other special family members and friends whose lives were touched by his warmth and kindness.
Lalo will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of
