Joseph Patrick "Pat" Gabaldon, age 73, a longtime resident of Belen, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2026.
Pat was born on February 21, 1953. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Maria Gabaldon.
A proud graduate of Belen High School, Class of 1971, Pat went on to dedicate many years of his life to serving the City of Belen through his work. He took great pride in his community and the people he worked alongside throughout the years.
Pat was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his two children, Elaine Barela (Ken) and Joseph Gabaldon (Arlene); eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Pat was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed spending time doing the things he loved most. He especially enjoyed going dancing wherever Spanish music was playing. His warm personality, love of life, and ability to create lasting memories with those around him made him someone who was deeply cherished by his family and friends.
Pat will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends whose lives he touched. The memories he created and the love he shared will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
