Lozano, and Rodrigo Lozano; daughter, Jennie Peringer; grandson, Tyrone Rivera; granddaughter, Kimberly Tellez; and great-grandson, Eddie Gonzales III.

She is survived by her children, Jose Lozano (Lena), Virginia Vivian (Sammy), Mary Frances Martinez (Lloyd) and Don Lozano (Brian); grandchildren, Eddie Gonzales Jr., Miguel Lozano (Amanda), JR Lozano, Samantha Vivian-Gonzales (Ruben), Joshua Martinez (Julie), Jordan Martinez, Samuel Vivian Jr., Thomas Rivera, Bethany Gonzales (Kevin), and Gina Thompson (Cody); great-grandkids, Jacob, Paige,
Audrey (Sam), Abby (Carlos), Joseph (Tonysha), Braylon, Mickaela, Mia, Kadence, Alexis (Dominic), Iziah, Ruben Jr., Alyssa, Christian, Ally (Vic), Joshua, and Josie; great-great-grandkids, Karla, Eddie IV, Malanah, Santiago, Tristen, Luna, Addison & Braydon.

Jovita's dedication to her family was apparent from a young age after her mom died in her early 40's. She quit school after 5th grade to help take care of her younger twin brothers & sister. She was a very quiet woman, but would surprise you with how funny she was, her favorite joke "if a priest blesses an avocado does that make it holy guacamole? A quiet singing or whistling was always coming from her lips. Her unwavering love went on into her later years as she raised almost all of her grandkids & great-grandkids.

Jovita was very religious. She was a long time member of San Miguel Church, and a member of the Legion of Mary. She prayed the rosary every day, keeping her rosary under her pillow. She loved babies and children, not surprising to anyone with her kind and gentle spirit. She enjoyed being outside and gardening, and she saw beauty in all of the world's creations, (which sometimes the family questioned!). If the family asked her if she wanted to go for a ride, she would say "I'm always ready for a ride," and if you were high up in the air on a bridge overlooking a valley, she would say "You can see the whole world from here". Her imagination and simple enjoyment of things was endearing.

She loved her quiet time, too; reading, gardening and tending to her lilac bushes, coloring, painting, and drawing, doing crosswords, word searches, and embroidery. A truly talented woman, she made some of the kid's baby blankets & quilts when they were born. She was an accomplished lady, having completed Art School through Art Instruction Inc, National Home Study Council.

She enjoyed music and movies, and definitely had her favorites. Abba, Connie Frances, Patsy Cline, Neil Diamond, and Linda Ronstadt, Dolph Lundgren, Bruce Willis, Jean Claude Van Dam, Charles Bronson, Angelina Jolie, Sandra Bullock, Whoopi Goldberg, and Jennifer Aniston. She liked action movies & comedies, and strong women heroine movies.

Jovita was a loving, caring, and faithful grandma, making apricot jam & canning fruit and peeling chile with her and grandpa Lupe were wonderful memories shared by the family. She baked and made fresh tortillas almost every day, and if you asked her how to make them, her measurements were " a handful, or half a handful, or a little of this or a little of that." She made the best red chile flat enchiladas and had them warm in the oven waiting for the kids after school! Her macaroni and fideos, and Capirotada are worth honorable mention. Her son called it "wet toast."

Never missing an opportunity to treat the kids, she would make them milkshakes, and always had popsicles in the freezer. She made breakfast for the them (eggs & real sausage) anytime they were over. The kids remember her hanging laundry and them spending every day after school and summer breaks at her house there until they got older. They had lots of fun at grandma & grandpa's house, even breaking a few beds with their wrestling shenanigans.

Beyond all, she lived for her family. Even after they were grown, her daughters would come over every morning for coffee before work. She leaves a legacy of love in all of those who's lives she's touched.
