Karen Louise O’Donnell (Nana)(68), A resident of Mountainair, NM, passed away on Thursday January 13, 2022 after a long fight with cancer. A member of St. Alice Parrish, Nana was a devout Catholic. Nana was a sassy old bird that loved her God, her Family, and her community. After meeting the love of her life in the US Navy, she become a faithful Navy wife. Raising her children through the trials and tribulations of the Navy’s demands of her husband, she made homes wherever they were asked to go. In 2002, she retired to Santa Fe NM with Papa. There she became actively involved with Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Community. In 2015, Nana and Papa moved to their forever home “Talamh Suaimhneas” in Mountainair. Nana was an avid reader, sudoku, and word puzzle player. She loved going on walks, reading books, and playing games with her grandchildren. Nana’s sweet haven was her grotto where she spent many hours in peace. She is survived by her Husband of 48 years (Papa) Charles, Children (James, Dawn, Mark, and Charles and their spouses) and 13 grandchildren. A public viewing will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows, Willard, NM, Friday Jan. 21, 2022 from 11am to Noon. The rosary will follow from 12 to 12:30. Mass will be from 12:30 to 1:30. Reception will be held at the ranch after mass. Arrangements are being handled by the caring professionals at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel, 418 W.
