Kirk Pflueger Obituary

Kirk was a gentle soul who faced certain challenges in life from a very early age. Yet through it all, he remained one of the warmest and most innocent people you could ever know. He never hurt a fly—literally or figuratively—and his kind, harmless nature made everyone around him feel safe and comfortable. There was something deeply reassuring about Kirk's presence. You could simply sit with him and feel at ease; his quiet warmth had a way of bringing peace to any room.

What Kirk loved most were the simple joys in life. He enjoyed vacationing with family, listening to classical music, and working on puzzles, often spending peaceful hours fitting the pieces together. And above all, he loved spending time with his family. Just being together meant the world to him.

If you spent any time around Kirk, you quickly learned to keep an eye on your drink. The moment you turned your head, he would sneak in with that mischievous little smile and finish off your soda, water, or whatever was in front of you—especially once he had already finished his own. It became one of those beloved family stories we'll laugh about for years to come. He had a quiet, playful spirit that made those moments special.

Kirk also had his favorite treats. Cheeseburgers were always a hit, but nothing compared to his beloved M&M candies and milkshakes. You could always count on seeing a sparkle in his eyes when those came out.

Kirk didn't need grand achievements or complicated words. His presence alone brought a special kind of peace and affection to our family gatherings. To his mother, his sister, his nephews, and all of us, he was a constant reminder of gentleness, innocence, and unconditional love.

Today we say goodbye to Kirk, but we carry forward the lessons he taught us without even trying: to be kind, to enjoy the simple things, and to love without condition.

As we grieve, we can find comfort in God's Word. The Bible tells us, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). It also reminds us, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted" (Matthew 5:4). And Jesus Himself invites us with these gentle words: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest... for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls" (Matthew 11:28-30).

Kirk, thank you for the joy, the laughs, and the love you gave us all. We will miss your sneaky drink raids, your love for classical music and puzzles, your warm presence, and the way you made every gathering feel a little brighter and more peaceful just by being there. You are now at peace, free from every struggle. We love you, and you will always hold a special place in our hearts.
