La Nelda Elizabeth Ross
July 19, 1932-February 28, 2026
La Nelda Elizabeth Ross, loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, crossed over into her heavenly home on Saturday, February 28th at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Alma Snyder, her loving husband of 56 years, Howard Ross, her four brothers, Glen Snyder, Earl Snyder, Wayne Snyder, and Wiley Snyder. It was one of her goals to live longer than any of her brothers and she did just that!
She is survived by her children: Levi Ross (Lorna), Micky Killough (Bill), Nancy Ross Williams (Dean), and John Ross (Tammy), ten grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and even one great-great granddaughter.
La Nelda married Howard when she was just 17 years old. She was an amazing wife and mother. She was sure that she had been placed on earth to take care of Howard Ross and support him in his work, his never-ending big ideas for making extra money, and also to help him in building a new home for his family whenever they moved, due to his promotions within the phone company. They built 3 homes, one in Lordsburg, one in Grants, and one in north Albuquerque. Howard was pretty sure that La Nelda was an angel, sent to him, to keep him on the straight and narrow. She supported him in whatever new idea he had for adding to their income, so that she could be a housewife and mother while their children were growing up and later, she was instrumental in running Howard's and her businesses. La Nelda was a long-time member of the Peralta Methodist Church and was a devoted member of the "Crafty Ladies" group that puts on an annual craft bazaar each fall.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11AM on Saturday, March 21st at Peralta Methodist Church.
Her children would like to thank the incredible employees at the Beehive Homes in Bosque Farms and Ambercare Hospice for the love and care that was clearly evident in the day to day interactions with their mother.
Arrangements are being handled by the caring professionals at the Noblin Funeral Service, Los Lunas, where an online guest register is available at www.noblin.com
