Lucinda Archibeque Obituary

Lucinda "Cindy" Archibeque, peacefully entered her eternal life on January 18, 2024. Cindy was born on July 20, 1934, she is the third of twelve children, she had six brothers and five sisters.

During her childhood, Cindy spent many years in California, where she learned the value of hard work, perseverance, independence, and homemaking skills. Cindy settled in Albuquerque where she married Mickey Archibeque. Together they had three daughters, who had the honor of watching Cindy's strong willed, independent nature with a quick wit, and fun, feisty spirit. Cindy excelled in her ability to make her home a haven for all who visited, she could prepare huge, amazing meals out of what seemed like nothing for anyone needing it. Cindy was a strong leader who could make others feel comfortable when they needed it most. She displayed these skills when she stepped out of her comfort zone and became an Avon consultant and shortly after a team leader. In later years Cindy and Mickey, moved to Rio Rancho where Cindy volunteered at St. Felix Pantry. Her ability to serve others was again on display for the many years she was there working alongside the "Sisters" and those she served.

Cindy was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Michael "Mickey" Archibeque.

She was also preceded by her brother, Isaac, who was killed in action during the Korean War. Her brothers, Larry and Walter and sisters, Cordy and Alta also preceded Cindy.

Cindy is survived by her loving daughters and their families, Audrey (Glenn) Roybal, Laurie (Larry) Tiley and Elaine Archibeque. Her grandchildren Justin Roybal, (AJ Chavez), Ashley Roybal, Lyndsey (Ernie) Vallejos, Leslie (Cory) Gardner, Zachary (Natasha) Wallace and Matthew Archibeque as well as three precious great-grandchildren.

We are forever grateful to her brother Wayne Sandoval and sister Dorothy Gurule for their unwavering love and support they gave Mom up until her ascension into Heaven. She cherished them and their visits. They meant the world to her.

The family will hold a private memorial service honoring Cindy.
