Lucy Vivian (Salaz) Gallegos

Lucy Gallegos, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, age 69, of Belen, New Mexico, passed away on September 19, 2026.

Lucy enjoyed camping, dancing, and attending parties. She had a love for New Mexico and Spanish music, and she found great joy in babysitting and cooking. Some of her favorite memories were made while traveling, going out to eat, and, most of all, spending time surrounded by her family. Lucy was always laughing and smiling, bringing warmth and happiness to those around her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence Gallegos; daughter, Amy Gallegos and her husband, Ed; son, Abel Gallegos; grandchildren, Jazmine Gallegos, Brittany Torrez, Jolene, Jacob, and Ashley Salaz; and great-grandchildren, Elijah Silva and Amaya Salaz.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Mariano and Romelia Salaz; her son, Michael Salaz; her grandson, Romeo Gallegos; her brothers, Ramon and Jake Salaz; her sister, Mary Jane Salaz; and her nephews, Joshua and Filimon Salaz.

Lucy leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through the many lives she touched. Her laughter, beautiful smile, and devotion to her family will remain treasured memories for all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Services for Lucy will take place on Friday, October 9, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM. A visitation will be held at 10:30 am, followed by a rosary at 11:00 am. A mass will then be recited at 12:00 pm.
