Lydia (M.) Wroten

Lydia M. Wroten, age 89, a longtime resident of Bosque Farms, New Mexico, peacefully passed away on June 10, 2026.

Lydia lived a life deeply rooted in her faith, family, and community. She earned her Associate of General Education degree and was a devoted member of the Secular Franciscan Order - Altar Society. Her passion for helping at the church was a cornerstone of her life, matched only by her profound love for her family.

Known for her warm and caring nature, Lydia truly loved celebrating others. If anyone she knew was ever featured in the newspaper, she made sure to save the clipping as a keepsake. In her free time, she enjoyed the meticulous artistry of needlepoint, traveling to new places, listening to country music, and keeping up with her favorite novelas.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James L. Wroten; and her son, Charles A. Wroten.

Lydia's legacy lives on through her surviving family. She is survived by her two sons, Dino L. Wroten and his wife Anna, and Jim Ray Wroten and his wife Debbie; as well as her daughter-in-law, Linda Wroten.

She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren: Anthony Wroten (wife Fern), Richard Wroten, Kristen Wroten, Maria Viers (husband Joe), James Wroten, and Aaron Wroten (wife Nichole). She was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren: Charlie Wroten, Jack Wroten, Alyssa Peterson, Ayden Wroten, Jaxson Viers, Owen Viers, Harrison Viers, Logan Viers, Isabelle Wroten, and Bodhi Lane.
Lydia will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Services for Lydia will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am, followed by a rosary at 10:30 am. Mass will be recited at 11:00 am. Lydia will then be laid to rest at 1:00 pm at Fairview Cemetery in Albuquerque, NM.
