Magdelene Annette (Thomas) Padilla

Magdelene Padilla went home to be with Jesus on September 9, 2025, at 10:03 p.m. She was the wife of Joseph Padilla, and they shared 42 wonderful years together.

Born in Belen, New Mexico, Magdelene was the daughter of Gilbert and Clorinda Thomas. She worked for many years as a bus driver and ran the family business. She was a member of the Calvary Chapel Rio Grande Valley.

She will be remembered for her faith in God, for her love and compassion for others, for her big laugh, and for her joy in life. She enjoyed painting, drawing, crafting, reading her Bible, and feeding the hungry. She loved doing things for others.

Magdelene is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Padilla; her daughters, Desirae and Phylishia Padilla; and her grandchildren, Alyshia, Adam Sanchez, John, Zachary, Rosalie Mathews, Evangelina Habel, CeciAnn, and Daylin Montoya.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Clorinda Thomas; grandma, Fela; her sister, Doreen Cordova; nephews, Joseph Thomas, Rudy Valenzuela, Theo Jr. Valenzuela; niece, Faith Quintana and cousin, Anna Jones.

Services will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Calvary Chapel Rio Grande Valley, beginning with a viewing at 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. A bural will take place following services at 3:00 p.m. at the family home, 144 Maestas Road
Belen, NM 87002.
