Marcella Stroup Obituary
Marcella Stroup, 44, passed away on August 10, 2026. She was born in El Cajon, California.
Marcella was a kind, generous, and deeply artistic person. She had a creative spirit and a way of seeing beauty in things that others might overlook. She was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. Her heart was generous, and even through the difficult seasons of her life, there was a goodness in her that those who knew her will remember.
Marcella's life was not always easy, but she was a real person who loved in her own way, cared deeply, and left her mark on the people around her. She will be remembered not for the hard parts of her story, but for the person underneath them: her kindness, her creativity, her generosity, and the moments that made her uniquely Marcella.
She is survived by her mother, Toni Stroup; brother, Chance Stroup; daughter, Katelynne Stroup; son, Leonard Lopez; godmother, Cheryl Forbes; godfather, Gary Alligier; her four beloved aunties, Wendy, Teresa, Felisa, and Andrea; her best friends, Jay Jaramillo, Patricia Tharaldsen, and Gabe Anderson; and her beloved dog, Kevin. She is also survived by many other family members and friends who she loved so much.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Nelda Wise, and grandfather, Frank Stroup.
Marcella will be deeply missed by the people who loved her. Though her life was far from perfect, she was a good person with a good heart, a creative soul, and a generosity that touched others. May she finally be at peace, and may the memories of the woman she was carry on through the people who loved her.
A service for Marcella will be held at Calvary Chapel Rio Grande Valley in Belen, NM on Thursday, August, 27, 2026. The service will begin at 1:00 p.m., with a reception to follow at 2:30 p.m.
