Marilyn Justice Obituary

Marilyn Cook Justice of Los Lunas, New Mexico passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, in her home. She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on August 22, 1938, to Chester Cook Sr. and Virginia Nance Cook. The family soon moved to California so Chester could work in the airplane factories during WW2. While in California they welcomed their son and younger brother Chester Cook Jr. The family relocated to Oregon for about three and a half years before coming home to New Mexico. Marilyn met Buddy Justice at Albuquerque High School. She graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1956, and she and Buddy married in August of that same year. Marilyn and Buddy moved to Los Lunas in 1970 with five of their six children. Their sixth child was born while living in Los Lunas. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Michael Justice and her husband of sixty-nine plus years, Buddy Justice. She is survived by her brother, Chester Cook Jr., and his spouse, Lorraine Cook, her children Tom and Pam Justice, Sheila Justice, Jon and Melinda Justice, Suzy and Lonnie Cox, Sally and Griffin Pope, and Joe and Angela Justice, and 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Marilyn was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held several callings including early morning seminary teacher for forty plus years, and a temple ordinance worker in the Albuquerque, New Mexico Temple for eighteen plus years. Marilyn enjoyed reading, especially the scriptures, and she was engaged with family history work for many years.

A funeral service will be held at the Los Lunas Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 160 James St NW, Los Lunas on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 10:00 am.
