Marjorie J (Thiel) Guernsey

Marjorie Joyce (Thiel) Guernsey passed away at her home in Belen, NM on January 21, 2021, at the age of 89. Marjorie was born in Billings, Montana on July 21, 1931 to Charles Arthur Thiel and Maude August (Sherrow). She was the youngest of eight and was the last survivor of her four brothers (Arthur, Charles, Harold, and Howard), and three sisters (Lois, Lucille, and Marvel).
She is survived by her husband Gibson (Bill) Ralph Guernsey of 59 years, and two loving children, Belinda Guernsey of Belen, NM and Lynn (Guernsey) Slack of Bedford TX. She has 3 grandchildren - Taylor Slack of Grand Prairie, TX, Johnny Slack of Bedford, TX and Braydan Deanne (Slack) Anderson of Ogden UT. She was extremely proud to have a great-grand daughter, Alliana.
She moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where she met her husband, Gibson R Guernsey where they were married on June 16th 1961. She raised her children, and worked as a film technician, nurse, and later as a teacher for children of special needs in the Albuquerque Public School system.
She loved anything and everything to do with her family and the outdoors - camping, hiking, bird watching, star gazing, rock collecting, and supporting her children's school events and activities.
She was a loving and supportive wife and a caring mother. She taught not only from her words but primarily by her actions. She was gentile, and known for being compassionate, caring, and supportive. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
