Marjorie Schwab, 92, of Rio Communities, stepped from the loving embrace of her family into her Saviors arms on June 23, 2025.
Born in Ashland, Ohio on September 24, 1932. Her family lived in towns across Ohio as her father pastored several churches before settling in Mt Washington, Ohio. She graduated from Anderson High School in 1950 and then attended Olivet Nazarene College and finished her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education at the University of Cincinnati.
Marjorie went on to have a 38-year career in education. Where she taught elementary school, mostly first, second, and third grades at Felicity-Franklin Elementary School. She was very active in the community as well as her home church, Felicity Church of the Nazarene. Playing the piano, led the choir, taught Sunday School, led VBS and much more. Her personal relationship with Jesus Christ was evident to all who knew her.
In 2019, Marjorie moved to New Mexico to live with her sister as they navigated their senior years together. Quickly finding her role as 'Aunt Marge' even more fulfilling as she was adopted by her Rio Communities Church of the Nazarene family and community of friends.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Arthur B. & Mary L. Shrum as well as her husband James R. Schwab.
Marjorie is survived by her sister Carolyn Tannery of Rio Communities, NM and her nieces: Tonya (Mike) Gelder of Albuquerque, NM; Cheryl (Rev. Dr. Dave) Hazel of Yukon, OK; and Melanie (Rev. Dr. Chad) Good of Rio Communities, NM as well as many great-nephews and nieces and great-great nephews.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Rio Communities Lighthouse Church of the Nazarene, 102 La Luna Pl. Marjorie will be placed to rest at a later date at the Mt Olivet Calvary Cemetery Felicity, Ohio.
