Martha Hollister-Bucknam Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Martha Hollister-Bucknam, who peacefully departed this life on May 15, 2026, at the age of 65. Martha was born on February 19, 1961, in Fort Devens, Massachusetts and later made her home in Belen, where she built a life centered around love, family, strength, and loyalty.

Martha was truly one of a kind, a strong, spirited woman with a firecracker personality who stood firmly by her word and protected the people she loved fiercely. She was tough when she needed to be yet carried a softness and sweetness that made those closest to her feel safe, loved, and cared for. If you needed someone in your corner, Martha was there without hesitation. Her strength, honesty, and unconditional love left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Above all else, Martha cherished her family. She loved spending time with her children, her daughter-in-law, and her beloved fur grandbabies, Yumi, Tengu, and Nesta. Some of her happiest moments were spent enjoying local farmers markets, celebrating holidays surrounded by family, and creating memories filled with laughter, warmth, and togetherness. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, treasured sister, and loyal friend whose presence brought comfort and joy into every room she entered.

Martha was a devoted Buddhist and proud member of the Soka Gakkai International community, where she found strength, peace, and purpose throughout her life.

She is survived by her loving husband, William Bucknam; her children Bryan Bucknam, Andrew Bucknam, and Britney Bucknam; her brothers Don, Dale, Jim, and Tim Hollister; along with many extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

A quote that beautifully reflects Martha's love and the impact she leaves behind comes from Winnie-the-Pooh: "How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."

A memorial service honoring Martha's life will be held on June 26, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Belen Community Center.

Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, Martha's love, strength, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family will continue to live on through all who knew and loved her.

Martha's arrangements are being handled by the caring professionals at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel, where an online guest register is available at www.noblin.com
