Phillip "Shorty" Romero, passed away suddenly at his home on, Wednesday, October 13, 2021. He was a lifelong resident of Belen. Phillip served in the Army National Guard in his younger years and did his basic training at Fort Bliss. He was a jack of all trades! Phillip was a great mechanic and could build a house from the ground up. He also was a heavy equipment operator along with many other things! Phillip loved to play football and he was the best pitcher! Phillip loved to go fishing and ice fishing with his son Willie and grandson Willie David! He was his son Willie's right-hand man! Phillip was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Romero; mother, Mary Lou Romero; wife, Pamela Romero; son, Jeremiah Romero; daughter, Amanda Romero; brothers, Paul and Steve Romero; and his sister Angela Romero. He is survived by his son, Willie Romero (Alisha Montano); daughter, Roxanne Romero (Hossy Ruiz), daughter Tavie Mia; grandchildren, Angelo (Jr.), Lucas, Josiah (Jojo), Willie David, Elijah (EJ), Genesis, Bellamy; and sister Debbie Romero. He is also survived by many loving uncles, aunties and many nieces and nephews. Phillip Romero is going to be greatly missed by his family and friends that he made during his lifetime.
