Phyllis Christine Kubena, daughter of Bill and Lola Fisher, age 85, a resident of Mountainair, New Mexico, was a member of the Methodist Church and a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Phyllis retired from Mountainair Public Schools and loved each child that walked through those cafeteria doors.
Phyllis to the outside world, but "MawMaw" to her family, she was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great-grandma who dedicated her life to love and service. MawMaw loved yellow, watching birds, and all natural things, and had a big sense of humor. MawMaw gave hope and encouragement, love, and light to every soul she encountered and touched the hearts of those she met.
"Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins" (1 Peter 4:8). MawMaw exemplified this verse and motivated us all to do the same. Your job is done here on Earth; you did what you were sent for, and the riches in Heaven are far greater. Fly high, MawMaw.
