Ramon Eugene Sanchez

Ramon Eugene Sanchez, age 84, Of Socorro New Mexico, passed away on July 18th 2026 surrounded by his loving wife, children, grandchildren and siblings.
Ray was born on Nov. 9. 1941 to Maximo and Peggy (Medina) Sanchez in Alcalde New Mexico, Ray was the oldest of 5 children. He was in the army and served from 1962-1966. He graduated from NM Tech in 1972 with a
bachelors in basic science. Shortly after started working with AT&T for over 30 years.
Ray married Genevieve (Lopez) on December 2nd, 1972, and they were married for 54 years. He loved spending time in Elephant Butte, going to concerts, fishing, hunting, camping, and traveling. He was an avid Lobo fan and a proud member of the Socorro Booster Club for many years.
Ray is survived by his loving wife Genevieve, his two children Jessica (Laco) and Russell (Nicole). Grandchildren Corey Sanchez (Jenelle), Candace Jojola (Dusty) Chantilly (Agusta) and Shantel Torrez. Great grandchildren Jeremy Valenzuela, Nolan and Alijah. Godson Ward Perez. Four Siblings Marian Perez (Frank), Mike Sanchez, Shirley Atwood (Dave) and Vera Liljestrand.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents Maximo and Peggy (Medina ) Sanchez and his grandson Henry (Ace ) Jojola III.
Ray will be remembered for his sense of humor & generosity. Ray will be deeply missed and forever loved by many.
