Raymond Garcia Obituary

Raymond John Garcia, 81, passed away in the early morning hours of July 7, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born on February 16, 1944, in Fort Sumner, New Mexico, Raymond lived a life defined by service, resilience, and a fierce love for his family and friends, and he was a bit of an asshole at times.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Raymond served his country faithfully and honorably for over two decades. His military career included multiple tours in Vietnam and participation in operations across the globe. He also served as a Drill Sergeant—training the next generation of Soldiers with his trademark grit and work ethic. His loyalty and love of the Cavalry was unwavering, often declaring with pride:
"If you ain't Cav, you ain't shit!"

Raymond was rough around the edges and could be difficult at times—but those who truly knew him understood that beneath his gruff exterior was a man who would do anything for friends and family alike. He loved deeply and gave generously. Whether it was cooking up a feast or sharing drinks with loved ones, Raymond found joy in bringing people together. He was a connoisseur of cold beer, whiskey, and green chile—always ready with a story or a toast.

He is survived by his sister Betty Garcia, his son Aaron Garcia, son-in-law Vincent Storer, and grandchildren Carissa Garcia, Jacob Garcia, Sebastian Garcia, Joshua Garcia, Alexis Garcia and countless friends.

Raymond now reunites with his beloved wife Janet Garcia and cherished daughter Amanda Garcia-Storer in location and spirit.
