"Lil Rich" our beloved family member passed away unexpectedly on January 19, 2026, at the age of 42. He was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Richard was preceded in death by his grandfather (Grampo) Richard Medina, Cousin Ryan Ramirez and other family members. Richard is survived by his parents Anna Florie and Earnest Florie. His siblings Marcus (Angel Florie), Anissa and Lorenzo. His grandmother (Gramita) Rosalia Medina. His nieces and nephews Laila, Nia, Elisha, Shiloh and a special niece or nephew on the way. Also surviving Richard is his dear Companion, Beatrice Rodriguez and two children Ramiro and Alize whom he helped raise. In addition to that, many family members from both his father's side (Florie) and mother's side (Medina) including numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and close friends who were all very special to him.
He was an avid music listener and enjoyed listening to many different genres, especially Hip-Hop. He was also a devoted Dallas Cowboy's fan, win or lose, and a sharp sports fanatic. He was very good with sports statistics and analysis; able to recall any stat he needed to quote. He had an extreme passion for learning and education; he loved to read and study. He encouraged his nieces, nephews, and the children he helped raise to aspire and pursue any and all educational opportunities.
He graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2016 with a double major in Communications and Sociology. He attended Mountainair and Cibola High Schools where he excelled in sports that included track and field, basketball and football. He loved to exercise and improve his athletic abilities, and in his later years, Richard trained for and participated in the Duke City Marathon and Run for the Zoo. A very prolific, wise and humble man he was. Forever and always in our hearts, "Lil Rich."
