You drew memories in my mind
I could never erase.
You painted colors in my heart
I could never replace.

Rose Mary embodied strength and beauty. She was a little girl with rosy cheeks and curls. She was a sister to share a coke with or find hidden treasures outdoors. She became a young woman of determination who went to UNM by the city bus. A daughter that anyone could be proud of. That charming smile made everyone feel welcome. She became a wife of a handsome man who shared her wanderlust for adventure and together they had seven children who filled their hearts and their car on the way to their next destination. Rose Mary found her happiness in her children and loved being called 'Mom.' As her children grew, she filled her days with time in the kitchen making tortillas, beans and the best red chile in New Mexico. To her neighbors, the many children that always seem to be around with her seven kids and strangers she offered an empty seat at her kitchen table filled with home cooking—her secret ingredient was always love. As her children grew up, she became 'Nana' with twelve grandchildren. Rose Mary's joy would be in making each of her grandchildren feel special and loved. She would add storyteller to her resume in life as she would share memories of days gone by. Rose Mary would watch her grandchildren grow up and they would bless her with twenty-six great grandchildren. A legacy of family and service would come from her eighty-eight years of life. Her riches left behind are the lives she touched and changed by being a woman of strength and beauty. Loved. Cherished. And Missed Greatly.
