Sandra Vigil, 56, a resident of Albuquerque left this earth on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 11th, 2021. She was born in San Bernardino, CA but has been an Albuquerque resident since her childhood. She attended Rio Grande High School and Pima Medical Institute earning her credentials as dental assistant. Sandra was the proud mother of her 3 children, Anndra Vigil, Alana Mendez, and Elijah Mendez, and she loved being a grandmother to her grandchildren, Xavion, Marcus, Alex, and Emily. Sandra is preceded in death by her father, Steve Vigil, her sister Susan Relethford, and her brother Steve (Stevie) Vigil, Jr. She is survived by her children and their father Victor Mendez, her grandchildren, her mother, Roberta Vigil, her partner Geno Sanchez, her siblings: Lori Desposito, Roberta (Tweety) Vigil, Gloria Vigil and her spouse Sandy, Agnes (Shugar) Vigil and her spouse Heather, Viola (Eileen) Vigil-Powers and her spouse Mike, Angela Ratliff and her spouse Charles, and Patrick Vigil and his spouse Season, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends. The family will be celebrating and reflecting on Sandra's life with a rosary and funeral mass on Thursday, April 22nd at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW, Albuquerque. Anna Swan, aunt, will be leading the rosary starting at 8am followed by the funeral mass at 9:00 officiated by Father Nick Nichols. Graveside services and interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Graveside services are limited to immediate family, and their families only, due to pandemic restrictions. Outdoor reception to follow funeral mass.
