Thelma Smith Obituary
Thelma Smith, age 90, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and proud Navy veteran, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on March 12, 2025.
Thelma was born at home on August 23, 1934. in Arlington, Kansas. She served her country honorably in the Navy during the Korean War. She embodied the values of courage and dedication. After her service, she devoted herself to her family; nurturing and guiding them with unwavering love and a deep commitment to her faith.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse L. Spence and Leona Spence; five brothers, Gene, Archie, Leroy, Fred, and Keith; as well as a sister, Fern.
She is survived by four daughters, Paula Lowery, Carol Gonzales, Linda Morris, Shari Lutz, and Jessica Smith; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren 4 step-grand-children; and one living sibling, Judy Valker.
Rest in eternal peace.
Services for Thelma will take place on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel. A visitation will take place at 10:30 am, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am. A reception will follow at 1 Vista Del Rio, Rio Communities, NM, 87002.
