Thomas Platt Obituary

Thomas Gregory "Greg" Platt, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away after a life filled with family, meaningful work, and lasting connections with those around him.

Greg was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Roath Platt; his son, David; his daughter, Patricia; his sister, Cathy; and his parents, Thomas Galloway Platt and Arlene Simonds Platt.

Greg never met a stranger. He had a genuine gift for connecting with people and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. He was hard to miss, always recognizable by his wide smile and even wider hat, which became a familiar part of his unmistakable personality.

In 2000, Greg and Linda moved to Socorro to help care for Linda's mother, Jean Roath, during her final years. Greg made Socorro his home and became a valued part of the community.

Greg worked in software and website design for many years before retiring in 2018. He took pride in his work and enjoyed the opportunities it gave him to learn, create, and connect with others.

Greg is survived by his son, Tom; daughter, Ella; sister, Debbie; brother, Cory; sister-in-law, Gwen; and seven grandchildren, who will carry his memory and legacy forward.

A graveside service for Thomas will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Socorro Community Cemetery, in Socorro, NM.

Thomas's arrangements are being handled by the caring professionals at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel, where an online guest register is available at www.noblin.com
